Meet Our Board of Advisors
Joseph C. McGinley, MD, PhD
Dr. McGinley is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Physiology from Temple University. He completed his residency and fellowship at Stanford University. Dr. McGinley is the founder and CEO of McGinley Orthopedic Innovations, LLC., as well as President and CEO of McGinley Manufacturing. He is also founder and CEO of McGinley Education, a company focusing on physician education of the latest techniques in interventional sports medicine. He currently holds over 100 patents.
Scott T. Porter, MEd
Scott Porter’s professional interests converge at the intersection of healthcare, technology & innovation. Porter is one of the co-inventors of IntelliSense technology and is a co-founder of McGinley Orthopaedic Innovations.
Mr. Porter's background includes experience at Temple Orthopaedics, Shriners Hospital for Children, ICON Clinical Research, Accenture, culminating in his current role facilitating accelerated drug development and optimized clinical trials at Medidata Solutions.
Previous entrepreneurial roles include that of founder of AASP Systems, a software company which analyzes patient surgical outcomes and co-founder/partner in CP Cellars, a premium California-based direct-to-consumer wine brand.
Mr. Porter holds an undergraduate degree from University of South Carolina and an advanced degree from Temple University.
Samir Patel
Samir has over 25 years of experience in pharma. Joined Merck in 1999 as an analyst and rose through rank as a Director prior to departing for GSK. At GSK, lead a team for 8 years. In 2020, had a great opportunity to help cancer patients where he built the government pricing operation team and implementing the in-house SaaS GP system at Seagen.
In his current role, Samir works closely with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Pharmacy Affairs Health Resources and Services Administration (340B OPAIS) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Samir has an accounting degree from Temple University.
Alejandro Badia, MD, FACS
Hand and Upper extremity surgeon at Badia Hand to Shoulder Center in Doral, Florida. Dr. Badia co-founded the MARC (Miami Anatomical Research Center) Institute. He is Past worldwide President of the International Society for Sport Traumatology of the Hand. He also launched OrthoNOW, the first immediate orthopedic care center in South Florida, franchising it in early 2013.
Daniel R. Fischel, JD
Founder, Chairman, and President of Compass Lexecon (formerly Lexecon), a wholly owned subsidiary of FTI Consulting Inc. University of Chicago Law Emeritus and former Dean and former Professor at the University of Chicago Graduate school of Business.
John N. Kastanis, MBA, FACHE
Health Care Consultant. An accomplished health system executive with significant experience in learning, teaching and specialty hospitals. His core expertise is in strategic planning, governance, fund development, academic medicine, while also managing large Medicaid and Medicare patient populations. He has served as President and CEO at University Hospital, Temple University Hospital, and the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute, among several others. In his numerous leadership roles, he has a proven record of success with financial turnarounds, mergers and performance improvement.
Dick McGinity, DBA
President Emeritus of the University of Wyoming. Prior to joining UW's faculty in 2007, Dr. McGinity was a general partner in a Boston-based venture capital fund until starting his own investment banking firm serving technology firms and their founders. He has extensive transaction experience, has served on numerous boards of publicly-traded and private companies, holds degrees from Princeton and Harvard, and was deployed three times to Vietnam as a Navy Pilot.
Kyle True, PE
Petroleum Engineer. Mr. True is the founder of a series of companies which include oil production, oilfield services, automotive repair, information technology, and others. He is currently developing patented technologies in the areas of solid media environmental remediation and ore processing.
