Maricopa Integrated Health System adopts IntelliSense® HandHeld Robotic Drill in landmark 500th surgical case.
First in Arizona to provide their patients with the latest technology.
IntelliSense® HandHeld Robotics was recently used at Maricopa Integrated Health System in Phoenix, Arizona by Scott Swanson, MD and Paul Zidel, MD, FACS marking its 500th surgical case this past March. Dr. Swanson celebrated, “After using the IntelliSense® HandHeld Robotic Drill, we saw an instant improvement in time savings, screw length accuracy, and less radiation. This technology will help from both a clinical and economic perspective for our hospital, staff, and most importantly, the patient.” With this innovative product, surgeons are seeing the safety benefits for patients and the cost benefits for hospitals. Maricopa Health System is the first in Arizona to adopt the technology.
CEO, Joseph C. McGinley, MD, PhD stated, “I am proud to say the latest in orthopedic technology is made in Wyoming and used by Maricopa Integrated Health System. The surgeons who have adopted our technology are leaders in their field. Maricopa Integrated Health System’s commitment to providing their patients with the best possible care is evidenced in their adoption of this product.”
IntelliSense® HandHeld Robotics revolutionizes orthopedic surgeries. The IntelliSense® Drill has integrated sensory technology with real-time depth measurement and auto-stop safety features. This hand held robotic technology accurately measures depth for precise screw sizing during surgery as well as stops automatically upon breaching the far side of the bone before injuring other anatomic structures. Since its founding in 2015, McGinley Orthopedics has strived to improve patient care while reducing costs.
